Transport and Storage Industry


The Transport and Storage industry represents about 4% of Australia's workforce and in 2009-2010, 85% of its workers were covered for workers' compensation.

In 2009-2010 8% of all workers compensation claims were made by workers in the Transport & Storage industry which equates to an average of 29 employees daily.

With 25 claims per thousand employees (2008-2009), the incident rate in the Transport & Storage industry is well above the 14 claims average across all industries.

In 2009-2010, the most common causes of compensated injury in the Transport & Storage industry were:
