Hazard Management
Business Situation

Employers have an obligation to provide workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control. Workplace procedures need to address:

  • Hazards in the work area are recognised and reported to designated personnel according to workplace procedures
  • Work instructions for controlling risks are followed accurately
  • Dealing with accidents, fires and emergencies are followed whenever necessary within scope of responsibilities and competencies

Module Capabilities
SCRIM differentiates between the following three main categories of hazards:
  1. Systematic Hazards; which are identified during a Risk Assessment
  2. Incidental Hazards; which are the result of an incident occuring
  3. 'Walk in' Hazards; identified during the course of work
Like the other SCRIM modules Hazards follow a process of:
  1. Reporting
  2. Notification
  3. Corrective Actions
  4. Sign-Off
The Hazard module provides reporting on:
  • Cause and Effect; Hazard could Cause Personal Injury, Property/Equipment Damage etc..
  • Classification; Incidental, Systematic etc.
  • Likelyhood
  • Severity
  • Risk Score (based on the selections of the aforementioned)
